Basketball

Lincoln loves his hoop and loves to dunk the ball, so when he saw the basketball on the t.v. today he just loved it!! My favorite part is him needing the water break!

Baby Trey

I need to write down the story of the day so that I will always have it, so for those who don't care or do care, here it is. After 2 false labors, a stent for 5 months, kidney stones and everything else that comes along with pregnancy I was scheduled to be induced on the 28Th at night and my doctor hoped to have be deliver that next early morning. We went in around 8pm, and I saw the nurse that saw us for the first false labor and she was sure I came back in later that next day to have the baby. I was given a different nurse but the one we had a few weeks before I guess asked to be my nurse because after we had been there a few hours she came and told us she was now going to be our nurse because she liked me as a patient. This was a good thing because she was so super nice, explained a lot and very attentive.
So they used this pill that is supposed to help things get going, which they did. By the time she started which was around 9:30 or 10 (of course they were in no hurry, and i was low priority) I was a 4 within an hour or so. They let me just progress on my own because i seemed to be changing, and the doctor didn't want me to have the baby in the middle of the night so they opted to not give me any pitocin. I kept trying to tell her I was slow with Lincoln and I progressed really fast and then kind of slowed down. She kept telling me things are different with your second and that she had hopes I would have the baby by the end of her shift at 7am. Well of course I got to about a 4+, 5 and sat there for 4 hours or maybe more. The doctor came early in the morning and broke my water at about 5am and then they put me on the pitocin. Then my nurse said now that is done you will be no later than noon. Josh and I looked at each other and that sounded all to familiar with our last nurse with Lincoln. I did change but very very slow. They kept cranking up the pitocin and trying everything to help me along. Not only was I progressing slow but I was starting to feel the pressure of the baby, and Trey was flipped, so the nurse thought I was not able to really get numb because of the position of the baby. I had almost complete feeling in my legs and felt what I feel like was every bit of the contractions. Earlier in the labor and even the whole time with Lincoln I was not feeling anything. I would watch the monitor and had to be told when to push.
So because Trey was flipped the nurse had me go on my hands and knees to get him to flip. Josh was great, right by my side the whole time holding my hand, rubbing my back. I was hurting so bad with each contraction and was having a hard time. If I didn't have him there with me I don't know if I would of made it. I was also lucky to have my mom with me, helping me with my breathing(since I never expected to feel anything I didn't really know how). She was great, and without her I would of been in trouble. So after this the nurse comes in and tells me to sit this way for another 5 minutes, and I just told her I was feeling everything and the contractions now were forcing me to push so she hurried and turned me back over, checked and the baby was right there. She told me to not push and that she needed to grab the doctor. He came right away with 4 other nurses and after 2 or 3 pushes Trey was here. I was so overwhelmed with emotions and so happy to have our little boy here. They even let Josh cut the cord, which was really fun for him!! Not sure I would of ever thought he had the stomach to do it, but he did. All the nurses were great, and I loved my doctor. Being here in Texas has been such a blessing for us, with all the help from friends and especially family. It was a really neat experience to have mom and dad there and I don't know if we would of ever done that if we were not here. We couldn't be more happy to have 2 healthy boys.
The kidney stone surgery was the next day. My doctor was unable to come in because of all the patients he had scheduled and the availability of the hospital. With it being the end of the year they are so booked and didn't have much to choose from. So I ended up with another doctor who ended up being great. They lazered the stone and the doctor said when he took out the stent out there were stones that had crystalized all over it. So he replaced it with a new one that will hopfully be taken out tomorrow as long as when they take the x-ray all the stones are gone!! I will cross my fingers, because it will be so nice to have this pain gone from my back.

Our Little Buckeyes

Lincoln is doing okay with Trey, just a lot more needy and not sure what he thinks. He likes the attention he gets when he is sweet with Trey but hates it when Josh or I are with Trey and not him! I expected him to notice a little but not as much as he is (only because of his age).

Lincoln is so into his Daddy right now! I dont know if its because he is not here alot with school and is liking him being home or what, but always needs him to be holding him or right by him if he is around. It is really cute to watch!! During the Ohio State game he was watching Josh and started to copy him. He would stand right next to him and say "go", clap his hands, and yell at the t.v. when Josh did. It was so stinking cute, i was glad i caught it on video.

This is what happens when he learns dancing from his mom and Grammy!!

Trey David

So he is finally here!!! With a shorter labor and less pushing our little man made it here yesterday at 1:47 p.m.. He weighs 8 lb. 4 oz and is 20 inches long. He is a little bigger than Lincoln was and 2 weeks earlier than Lincoln, so i couldn't image if I went over my due date with this one!!! We couldn't be happier, and more blessed to have such a sweet healthy baby! Here are a few pictures and i'll post more later.

Video Of Christmas

This is what happens when a 1 year old gets to have christmas with 5 other adults!!! A little long but fun to watch!

False Alarm #2

How embarrassing to go to the hospital for the second time for them to only send you home!!! Lat Sunday a week ago we went to the hospital and, contractions about 3-5 minutes but no change. The nurse pretty much told us, see you in a few hours. Then I am crapping all day yesterday and start having contractions around 3 or 4 and was not going in unless they continued or got worse. So finally at 11 last night we had been timing them every 3 minutes apart and decided to go in because they were worse than last time and close together. We get there, and are hooked up to the monitor and after feeling this for 5 hours still no change, but she wanted me to wait an hour to re-check and see if there was anything. She came back and said you are having some really good contractions, lets check and see. Of course no change. So again we went home. This time she did give me a sleeping pill that would either keep the contractions going or make them stop, but wither way she said it would relax my body, so the babies heart rate wouldn't keep going up! So i was still feeling some contractions after taking the pill but after an hour or so I was out. i woke up a few times with some pain but nothing terrible. So i guess it stopped them because here I am Sunday afternoon with no contractions and no baby. Not the end of the world because I go in tomorrow night for an induction just really frustrating because with Lincoln i felt the contractions the same maybe even no as bad and i was ready. I have no idea what this means, other than i have no idea what my body is doing. Anyone knows please let me know, otherwise the hospital staff is going to start calling me by name, every time I go in there.

Christmas Morning

It was a little weird being with such a small group, but was tons of fun! We loved every minute of it and it was fun to watch Lincoln. Santa brought him one of those Little Tike's Basketball Hoops and he loved it! For some reason he has been way into hoops! When dad took him to Academy the other day he freaked out when they went into the hoop isle. He came downstairs and kept saying "oop" and "dunk it"! It was fun to watch him want to tear off the wrapping paper and watch his face as he anticipated what it would be! My parents and the Hodsons gave us our double stroller that we are so excited about and my parents got us our bassinet and a beautiful picture of the Houston temple!! It was great to be with family, and now that the festivities are all over we just wait for the little one to get here!

Christmas Eve at Grannys

Its been a tradition to go to my Granny's on Christmas Eve and we missed it last year because we came Christmas Eve, so it was fun to see everyone!!

Update with the babe!!

So I have been dilated for 2 weeks now at a 1... surprise surprise, this is what I did last time with Lincoln!! Sunday afternoon after our nap I woke up having some contractions! They lasted from about 3 till about 9 every 3 minutes, so we thought it was time to go in. We went in and the nurse came to check after an hour and there was no progress, so they sent me home. Before we left the nurse told us the contractions were getting worse and on top of each other and that she would probably see us in the middle of the night or tomorrow morning, that i was in early labor and it would just be more comfortable for me at home. So expecting that's what would happen we went home, and I had contractions all through the night and then a little in the morning. I was not about to go back into the hospital unless I was dying, but it never got that way. Just consistent, but never got terrible. So Tuesday night here I am still pregnant!! So you can guess the contractions slowed down and then pretty much stopped. Again last night I was getting contractions, but nothing came from it. Just big and ready to be done, so since this whole pregnancy has not been planned and thrown us for a few loops we can only except our little Trey to be ready to come Christmas morning!!!

Cute pictures From the Cabin

This year we went to Utah for Thanksgiving and my parents rented a cabin in Park City! It was so much fun, and really fin to be with everyone!

Not what we Expected in Texas!

Yes this is Texas!! Of course its snows the year we move down here, to get away from the snow! Josh says there is no reason for us to bare the extreme heat in August if we still get snow in December. It is still better than what we came from, but maybe would of been a little cooler if we didn't just come from tons of snow! Mom was wondering why we only took 2 pictures, and i had to remind her its not an anomaly for us to see snow!! The best part is the whole city shut down! The stores closed early because it was not safe for the employees driving, the airports, the schools and i don't even think the snow ever stuck to the concrete.

Cute Video!

Lincoln was so happy, playing with Toby and in his ball pit! He thinks Toby is chasing him and thinks its so funny! I was glad I was able to catch some of it on video because he normally will stop what he is doing once I pull out the camera.

Little Party!!!

Yes, of course we had to celebrate there 1st birthdays together! If they decide to come on the same day then we get to have there parties together! We had a hard time finding a theme we liked for a boy and a girl, and this one turned out so cute!!! Everything was "little". Marian seemed to like the cake a lot more than Lincoln, she really got into it. Lincoln got sad once everyone started singing, but once his daddy came and sat with him he was fine!! Thanks to everyone who helped and was able to make it, we had so much fun!

One More Picture!

If you didn't notice, dad was trying to be in the background of most of the pictures, so to humor him I needed to post at least one picture! Otherwise, all his efford would be worthless!!!

Video

Its a little long, but I didn't want to cut too much for those who care to watch!

Pictures!!!

Sorry can you tell this is our first!!!! We went a little overboard with the pictures, but i just couldn't help it, he was was so cute!

My Baby Turned 1

LOOK AT HOW LITTLE HE WAS!
I found myself throughout the day remembering what all was going on! Most of it was still waiting, or now I have been pushing for 2 hours!! Our sweet boy definitely took his time getting here, but we have loved every second he has been part of our lives! Josh and I find ourselves talking about what he did that day and how this was cute and how cute that was all the time. We couldn't be more lucky to have a little boy full of life, and love of life. He is such a happy baby with lots of personality! He will be a great big brother!
At age one Lincoln's favorite thing is to play with balls. I think it was one of his first words and one of few things that he actually recognizes, and will point and tell you "ball" when he sees one. He finds them everywhere!! So We decided to do a miniature birthday party going kind of with the theme of balls. We put whoppers on his cake and of course that's all he wanted to eat, and then we had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. To top off the night Grammy bought him his own ball pit, and I can't tell you how much he loves it. There are balls all over the house but it definitely keeps him occupied.

Bad Fall...

I guess this is what comes with your kids learning to walk. He was trying on some shoes and fell and hit his head. It didn't look bad or sound like a bad fall until he stood up and there was a knot the size of my fist on his forehead!! My poor baby!
